Gunnar Stoltenow
Where are you from, when did you begin skiing and telemarking, where do you ski most now?
I hail from the farmlands of central Washington, Selah to be specific. I started skiing before I could walk, and made the switch to Telemark around 21. I spend most of my time skiing at White Pass, teaching freeride on the weekends, and slashing the secret stashes during the week!
What do you love about telemarking?
The thing I love about Telemark is that it has deepened my relationship with skiing. Telemark changed the way I connect with the mountains and the people surrounding them. To me, it is the purest way to move through the snow, always adapting to the changes in snow and terrain, doing so in the freest way possible.
What do you like about our bindings?
The things I love about 22 Designs bindings are the durability and the transfer of energy they provide to your equipment. You can get an infinite amount of power, or a perfect amount of finesse out of the bindings. in a sport where your equipment needs to be an extension of your body, 22 Designs is the best at securing that connection.
What do you like to do for fun when you’re not skiing?
When I'm not skiing, you can catch me working on the farm, or swinging through the treetops across the state. If I'm not working, I'll be out riding motorcycles, catching a Yoga class, or Just soaking up the sun waiting for more snow to fly!
