Mr
My background: 35 years of Tele from leather 3 pin to NTN and everything in between. 80% resort and 20% BC and I like to charge everywhere. I have been riding the Outlaw X for the last 8 seasons and Lynx for the last 3 seasons. I decided to invest in another 75mm setup before they become 'obsolete'. Yes I Panicked and I am glad I did. To date I have 42 days in all conditions and terrain on this binding. The Axl (combined with Scarpa T1/T2) amazingly feels so similar to the performance of the Outlaw X, For me this is key to know I can 'charge' around the hill without equipment limitations. I adjusted the active flex to suit my style by moving the Slic Pin to the middle position. This took a few runs to determine. I was very familiar with the tour mode mechanism which I find to be simple, robust and effective. I don't mind ascending with a few extra grams in the binding knowing I have a reliable, bombproof, hard-charging and solid connection I can trust. There has been one occasion on a steep wipeout where both skis came off. I prefer my skis to stay on so I adjusted the pre-load on the springs for a more secure fit. The Beaver Tail is a nice design to aid stepping in and aligning the Tail Throw. I purchase spares for each binding I own straight away so if there are breakages I can deal with it instantly no matter where I am in the world and on what part of the mountain. Lastly, I bounce from USA to Europe in the season and I now have Shift Plates on all my skis (Yes more weight...man-up people). It takes 5 mins to swap out a binding so I have the ability to ride the same ski with a different binding depending on the activity, conditions and my desire. (Outlaw X, Lynx and now Axl). Versatility, reliability, confidence and feel put a huge smile on my face. Nice work 22 Designs!

Bombproof
Having been diehard Black Diamond customer I needed to make a pivot and wow what a difference The AXL is by far best binding to date and love the backcountry ease of use coupled with minimal weight, this is a perfect match for my Meier Ski Plan to purchase the Vice for a lift access set up

My favorite, yet?
Phenomenal binding for those duckbill traditionalists. This is my favorite binding of all time. Stiffy springs in the first tele-sutra position were my sweet spot on light fresh snow days with more than few inches of the goods. Other days I kept it in the second position.
