Where are you from, when did you begin skiing and telemarking, and where do you ski most now?
I grew up in San Francisco, spending a lot of the winter skiing at Kirkwood. I started skiing there when I was 5 years old and immediately fell in love with the sport. I then went to high school in Carbondale, CO where I joined the telemark team. I quickly became an avid big mountain telemark skier. Our team skied the Aspen resorts but also traveled around Colorado going to various big mountain competitions. I am now going to college in Bend, OR skiing Mount Bachelor and Hoodoo. I am also spending a lot of time going back to Kirkwood for its deep snow, steep terrain, and cliffs.
What do you love about telemarking?
I love how flowy and fun every second is; tele makes every run more fun and challenging. It feels like I am surfing when flying through the powder, linking smooth and flowy turns together. But my favorite aspect of all is the community, every telemark skier is stoked to be out, having fun with their friends and they are always game to go skiing with you, even when they don't know you.
What do you like about our bindings?
I love how reliable and predictable the bindings are, not to mention the adjustability. The bindings have such a smooth feel while skiing and have never malfunctioned. I love that I can take them off and twist the cap a little to change the stiffness and feel of each turn, making the bindings personalized to my skiing style.
What do you like to do for fun when you’re not skiing?
Whenever I'm not skiing you can find me whitewater kayaking, backpacking, rafting, cliff jumping, mountain biking, or any other outdoor activity, I am almost always outside having a blast with friends.
