Atheletes - Team 22

Paul Karchut

Paul is a great young Canadian tele skier. We were lucky enough to pick him up last year to be a member of Team 22. Just back from skiing New Zealand, Paul's in his final year of school studying radio broadcasting in Vancouver and ready for a winter of skiing the fresh, the firm, the frozen... whatever! Paul enjoys hucking himself off of cliffs with his HammerHeads, as you can see.

Where are you from, when did you begin skiing and telemarking, and where do you ski most now?

From: Vancouver Island, BC
Started skiing: ’85
Started tele skiing: ‘01
Ski most at: I’m vagrant but my home hill is Mount Washington.

What are your favorite boots and skis?

Boots: Garmont Ener-G.
Boards: ScottyBob’s… If I had to choose one model, the Headrush.

What do you like about HammerHeads?

The binding compliments a stiff boot like the Ener-G, but they still tour beautifully thanks to their light weight, integrated climbing wires and easily adjustable tensions.

What do you like to do for fun when you’re not skiing?

Hmmm… school, longboarding, flyfishing, movies… talking about skiing.
